Emmaus Anglican blessed students, teachers and backpacks on Sunday, Sept. 3 to mark the start of the school year.  After seeing an annoucement about the service online, SooToday reporter Jeff Klassen showed up bright and early, backpack in tow, curious to learn what this ‘Blessing of the Backpacks’ service was all about.

“During the ceremony the backpacks received tags that said ‘blessed to be a blessing’, which related to the idea that loving other people was an extension of God’s love, and a blessing for both the giver and receiver.”
